• January 2, 2026 — First Day to Submit an Application for a Ballot by Mail

   

• February 2, 2026 — Last Day to Register to Vote

• February 17, 2026 — First Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance

   

• February 20, 2026 — Last Day to Submit an Application for a Ballot by Mail
  (Received, not postmarked)

   

• February 27, 2026 — Last Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance

   

• March 4, 2026 — Last Day to Receive Ballot by Mail
  (Postmarked by 7:00 p.m. on March 3, 2026)

   

Ballot Security Notice
The Smith County Elections Office will begin live streaming voted ballots when early voting ballot boxes are delivered to the office on the evening of February 27, 2026. The livestream will continue 24 hours a day until votes are canvassed, in compliance with Section 127.1232(b) of the Texas Election Code.
