Important Dates

  • January 2, 2026 – First Day to Submit an Application for Ballot by Mail.
  • February 2, 2026, Last Day to Register to Vote. You can check your registration status and address.
  • February 17, 2026 – First Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance
  • February 20, 2026 – Last Day to Submit an Application for a Ballot by Mail (received, not postmarked)
  • February 27, 2026 – Last Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance
  • March 4, 2026 – Last Day to Receive Ballot by Mail (postmarked by 7 pm on March 3, 2026)

The Smith County Elections Office will begin live streaming the voted ballots when they are delivered to the office in their ballot boxes the evening of February 27, 2026, when early voting ballots are delivered, and will continue to do so 24 hours a day until after the votes are canvassed. This is being done to comply with Section 127.1232(b) of the Texas Election Code.

Early voting locations are open every day during early voting.
